What to Expect From Elite Tree Service Mobile
Elite Tree Service Mobile takes down, prunes and cleans up trees for homeowners in Mobile and the surrounding parts of Mobile County, from Spring Hill and Midtown to the newer subdivisions out west, and down toward Theodore and the bay.
The first thing we do is come look. A tree in Mobile is rarely just a tree: it is a 70-foot loblolly pine leaning toward a carport, a water oak with a hollow at the base, a live oak whose lower limbs rest on the roof of a raised cottage, or a palm dropping dead fronds onto a pool deck. We look at the tree itself (species, lean, cracks, dead wood, fungus and termite shelter tubes on the trunk, pitch tubes on pines) and at what surrounds it: the house, the fence, the neighbor's yard, the overhead lines and the way a crew would get equipment in without tearing up a wet lawn.
We also work out whose tree it is and which rules apply, before anyone talks price. The City of Mobile treats every tree in the public right-of-way as a city tree, and pruning or removing one takes a permit from the Mobile Tree Commission. On private lots, a permit depends on whether the property is developed, whether it sits in one of Mobile's historic districts, and the species and trunk size; the city's Heritage Tree list covers oaks other than water oak, magnolias, longleaf pine, hickory, sweetgum and several others. If a permit is needed, we tell you so up front, so the paperwork does not stall the job later.
Then you get a written quote. Each tree has its own line: what will be done, how the wood and brush will be handled, whether the stump is included and what it costs. Nothing is cut until you approve it, and if we find something during the work that changes the plan, we stop and talk to you first.
The way we work in Mobile
- Pruning cuts made to ANSI A300 practice: no topping, no stripping a tree's interior.
- Limbs over roofs lowered on ropes instead of dropped.
- No work within 10 feet of energized overhead lines; those go to Alabama Power.
- Equipment kept off soaked lawns when we can, mats or hand-carrying when we cannot.
- Contractor debris hauled away by us, since the city's curbside pickup does not take it.
- Storm calls sorted by danger: trees on houses and blocked exits first.
